Welcome to Mr.Colocation

Phoenix Cloud

Cloud computing offers a handful of different service and deployment models that are important to the end user to understand in order to differentiate products available to them.

Service models:

  • SaaS (Software as a Service) – gives the end-user the ability to use the providers software application remotely. The software can be accessed from multiple client devices. This gives the end-user the ability to allow the service provider to manage all of the required infrastructure and takes the burden off of the end-users shoulders while they focus on their software.
  • PaaS (Platform as a Service) – the ability provided to the end-user allowing them to access the cloud infrastructure of the provider in order for the consumer to access the programming tools and language supported by the provider. Please be aware that the end-user does not manage or control the cloud network, servers, OS, or storage but has control over the applications.
  • IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) – the ability provided to the end-user in order for them to access processing, storage, networks, and other computing resources so the end-user can run their software. The end-user will not have any management over the infrastructure but can control the OS, storage, applications, or possibly firewalls.

Deployment models:

  • Public Cloud – the cloud environment is made available to anyone individual, company, or group and is owned and operated by the service provider (i.e., Amazon Web Services)
  • Private Cloud – making the cloud environment available for only an individual organization. It can be managed by a third party or the organization and can also be built on-site
  • Community Cloud – the cloud environment is shared by several groups or companies and supports a specific environment (i.e., security or compliance issues).
  • Hybrid Cloud – this environment is the combination of two or more previously mentioned clouds
